After many years of do-nothingness we finally got around to installing a screen door to allow for nice airflow through the house. Having the cats has ramped up the need for it. We got Gaymoir to do the installation for us. Mario’s a nice guy (cat lover which was cool) and we went for the pet proof screen which is a little darker (as it’s thicker) but it’s turned out really nice.
We had a BBQ at ours yesterday. Unfortunately the weather was crap but the company was awesome. Here are a few random pics:

Our cheap BBQ worked a treat!

Group shot.

Kay’s rad boots.

It’s the me.

As much as we try not to work with friends, sometimes it can’t be avoided! Here’s Gen picking out a pantone colour for her new business card which Christina is designing.

Mia did so well with the crowd (and all the noise!). We’re so proud of her, she’s so good with people!

Nat + Mia love.

Gen’s new guy Matt did well meeting and mingling with everyone considering Christina’s mates are a very clicky group. He got overexcited when Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It” came on TV and broke one of our bentwood chairs though! I suppose we can forgive him just this once!

Jon – Superman Dat Hoe.

Pong table came out, must almost be that time of year again!

The couch crew.

Our new BBQ.
Yeah it’s a crap $129 job from Bunnings. I wanted to buy this everdure BBQ, more than twice the price but it looks sturdy and really easy to clean (and potentially easier to keep clean). Christina had some doubts about it though so in the end we went with the Jumbuck. Putting it together it was evident how crap it was, the screws are going to rust overnight, some of the heads on the bolts weren’t even welded on straight! Hopefully the weather’s going to be awesome tomorrow so we can put it to work. Despite the shitty BBQ I’m sure the food’s going to taste great!

Last night I did my head in trying to figure out whether or not I want to leave the doors as they were or paint them white. In the end of the day I went against my instincts and painted them white. I’m missing the contrast and character of the wooden doors. Oh well, too late now!

For the moment I’m using a bit of tape at the bottom of the left door so I can open them. Might look at using something like this
We had Christina’s sister Jess + cousin Norman + his girlfriend Amanda over for dinner last night (it’s the first time we’ve had people over for dinner). Christina made chicken pies and damn it was so good!!!

Norman and Amanda (she’s a pro bowler!) coming up the stairs.

Jess.

Eggs + avo = win.

Pie!

LOL @ Jess.

A couple of bottles of wine later… Of-course we wanted to see how Amanda (the pro bowler) did on Wii bowling haha.

30inch baby.
Christina bought a new 27inch iMac and she’s given me her 30inch Apple monitor. Plug and play! I’ve now got my big monitor (which is so tiny in comparison to the Apple 30″) set to portrait on the right of the 30inch.

The insane storm the other night was the worst one I’ve seen so far at Maroubra. It damaged one of the huge trees in our backyard. One huge branch has snapped clean and is now leaning on our roof and another branch has also snapped clean and is lying on the ground!
