Gary Fisher Big Sur Project Build Thread: http://www.bikesmoveus.com.au/showthread.php?5654-Gary-Fisher-Big-Sur-Project
Made in the USA.
Also found this on the side of the street in the city. Got excited when I realised it was a Gary Fisher, got disappointed when I saw the crappy front fork, then got excited again when I saw that the frame was made in the USA.
Not sure what to do with it, we’ll see!
The Bikes Move Us forum was running on old forum software, and was being attacked by spambots so badly I had to turn off automatic new registrations and approve members manually (much work).
With a little help from Nyssa (my new web developer) I finally got around to upgrading it to the latest stable release of vBulletin. Of-course it looked like vomit on install (our old theme was no longer compatible) so I’ve spent a bit of time tweaking it to look better. Visit: http://www.bikesmoveus.com.au/
90′s Specialized Trail Breaker in mint condition. Even had a colour coded T-Bone stem and biopace chainrings!!! Geek out!
Nelson in digital camo.
Nelson number 2 (yes 2 Nelsons!).
Nelson did great on all the gradual uphills (he’s pretty into his road riding so his fitness was up).
Zi chose to ride a hardtail, his ass was raped for it.
Me, back at the car park post ride. I felt great, surprisingly!
Better shot of Nelson’s camo!
I really wanted to hit McDonalds on the way home for a cold Coke and a new Lamb Burger but Nelson being the chong that he is wanted to eat some hardcore Hong Kong style cafe food. Check this french toast out, it was so so so hardcore.
Zi twisted my arm to join him and a few guys at Loftus on Sunday. I didn’t want to go, but I knew I had to because I’ve done nothing in relation to fitness for so long.
Surprisingly I did AOK. I didn’t make it up the big hill, but I didn’t feel out of breath, nor down on energy. The lap took us 2hrs. That’s twice as long as what we used to do it in, but I’m chuffed I did alright. Looking forward to riding again (the weather was perfect!).
For too long I’ve been wanting to get on the bike. I finally bought a trainer from the boys at Cycling Express, of-course I’ve set it up in front of the TV for some Tour de France action!
Lovely Mazda RX2.
There’s always some cool machinery dropping in @ Zen Garage. Click here for many more photos of customer rides on our facebook page.
Love a good spot.
VWGolf.net.au sticker + a tonne of Hell on Wheels stickers too! :)
Stock vs. Not!
Low Power Honda Crew.
A cute L-Plater couple came in to Zen today (yup working, we’re now officially open weekends). He rode a Honda Postie Bike, she rode this mint Honda Zoomer. Was nice chatting, and comparing my modified Zoomer to her dead stock one. Kinda jealous when they set off to ride in the glorious Sydney sunshine!
The photo wall was in full swing.
Handing out prizes.
What a beast right?
Post ride laughs.
Squire’s went down a treat.
One of 3 girls competing.
Zen Garage played host to a horde of sweaty cyclists last night as our man cave marked the finishing line for the Cops and Convicts Alleycat race through Sydney CBD.
For those not familiar with an Alleycat race, think “The Amazing Race”. Starting in Hyde Park, participants were given a map of checkpoints they had to cycle to. Checkpointers at each checkpoint handed out clues and all along the way participants had to fill in answers on a riddle sheet (get answers wrong and time gets added to your final race time). Prizes were handed out to first place in various categories, as well as the traditional “Dead Friggin’ Last”.

Still being spoilt!
Nanami surprised me this morning with some pressies. :) A book on Bike Art (both bikes in art, and bikes as art, it’s awesome and very much in tune with a thread I started on BMU a few years ago), a moleskin which is so dead sexy I’m almost afraid to mark it with my doodles and horrible handwriting… and some naughty bull-clips too which have been a hit in the Zen office hehe.
